PASTOR'S CORNER

Welcome to St. Ann’s Parish Website!

I invite you to explore our website as a means of getting to know St. Ann’s and all that we do to serve Christ and one another. While we are well known in Charlotte for having a beautiful church and beautiful liturgy, what’s most beautiful about our parish is our parishioners! We are a family-oriented, thriving parish just south of Uptown Charlotte, filled with people committed to worshiping God through the fullness of our Catholic tradition and serving the poor and needy with charity and compassion. Come join us for Mass and help us as we seek to glorify God, bear witness to His Truth, and show forth His Love.

WEEKLY LETTER

April 28, 2024
Dear Parishioners,

It’s a busy time of year in our parish, and I’d like to keep you abreast of all that’s going on here at St. Ann’s. While last weekend we celebrated Confirmation, next weekend we will celebrate 1st Communion for over 60 children. To this end, I’m so very grateful to our Faith Formation Director, Virginia Blatchford, her incredibly capable assistant, Clare Beltran; our Confirmation team: Tom Mathis, Cecelia McGloughlin, Patricia Guerreiro, John Booze, and Joe and Mary Ellen Gustainis; our 2nd grade Faith Formation teacher, Danielle Mathis, and her assistant Evelyn Vesely; and our 2nd grade teachers at St. Ann Catholic School: Kathryn Hilgen, and Faith Pilcher. Without these dedicated individuals, our children would not be as well prepared as they are for the Sacraments!

Next Sunday, 05 May 2024, we will celebrate the Baccalaureate Mass for St. Joseph College Seminary’s graduates. This will take place at the 10:30am Mass, so please note that it will be more crowded than usual.

On Monday, 06 May 2024, at 6p.m., we will have our annual St. Dominic Savio Mass and procession to honor all of the young men who serve so attentively and reverently as our altar boys. This Mass is open to the entire parish, and this year it will be Latin Mass. So, please feel free to come to pray for our altar boys!

On Thursday, 09 May 2024, we will have our annual Ascension Thursday Latin Mass, which will take place at 7pm.

And mark your calendar for Monday, 13 May 2024, which is the feast day of Our Lady of Fatima. That evening we will celebrate Vespers at 6pm in the church, followed by a Rosary Procession around our parish grounds that will end in the grotto. We will then have a cookout sponsored by the Men’s Club. Many of us remember what a glorious evening we had last year as we blessed the statue of Our Lady of Fatima, and so I hope many of you will come again this year!

As always, keep an eye on this bulletin for more information about upcoming events in the parish. And thank you for your support of St. Ann’s!

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Reid
