PASTOR'S CORNER

Welcome to the Parish of St. Ann's Website!

I invite you to explore our website as a means of getting to know St. Ann’s and all that we do to serve Christ and one another. While we are well known in Charlotte for having a beautiful church and beautiful liturgy, what’s most beautiful about our parish is our parishioners! We are a family-oriented, thriving parish just south of Uptown Charlotte, filled with people committed to worshiping God through the fullness of our Catholic tradition and serving the poor and needy with charity and compassion. Come join us for Mass and help us as we seek to glorify God, bear witness to His Truth, and show forth His Love.

WEEKLY LETTER

June 21, 2026
Dear Parishioners,

A blessed and happy Father’s Day to all our dads, grandfathers, and godfathers. May good St. Joseph, the patron saint of fathers, be an inspiration to you, as well as a trusted intercessor.

It’s time to begin planning for our annual 33-days of preparation for consecration to Jesus through Mary on the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on August 15th. Countless saints throughout our Church’s history have encouraged the faithful to turn to Mary in their every need, and solemnly consecrating oneself to her is “the surest, easiest, shortest, and the most perfect means” to becoming a saint (St. Louis de Montfort). Thus, I warmly encourage those of you who have never made the consecration to do so this year, and I invite all of those who have done before to renew their consecration again this year.

To properly prepare for this Marian consecration, we will spend the 33 days leading up to August 15th doing some special readings. So we will begin on July 13th. You can use either Fr. Michael Gaitley’s book: 33 Days to Morning Glory, or St. Louis de Montfort’s True Devotion to Mary (just be sure to get a version with the consecration preparation included in the book). Then, following each of the Masses on August 15th, which is the anniversary of our parish founding, those who have prepared will make the consecration to Mary. Again, if you have made the consecration in the past, I encourage you to renew it every year. Countless saints throughout our Church’s history have encouraged the faithful to turn to Mary in their every need, and solemnly consecrating oneself to her is “the surest, easiest, shortest, and the most perfect means” to becoming a saint (St. Louis de Montfort).

On that same day of August 15, during the 4:30pm Mass members of our OCIA class will be baptized, confirmed, received into the Church, and make their 1st Communions. It promises to be a very special evening. So please join us that night to welcome our new parishioners.

I hope you’re all enjoying this holiday weekend!

In the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts,

Fr. Reid
